Menu
Balic Salmon Toast
Egg Mousse, Brioche, Crisp Capers, Dill, Crème Fraiche
Missoula Flood Still Waters, Sparkling, Oregon/Washington
The ancient vines of this east-south facing site achieve exquisite ripeness while retaining soaring acidity by way of an extra hour or two of sun during cool breezy mornings. Picking this site in early September (before the year's devastating fires) enabled us to capture a character reminiscent of the cool, calm movements of the Columbia River below and the serenity of Mt. Hood across the way.
Tuna Tartar
Kimchi Aioli, Chives, Sea Beans
Sesame Seeds, Crisp Seaweed
2019, Handful of Ghost, Chardonnay Blend, Santa Ynez
As many flowers in this field of Spring as stars in the moonless Atacama Desert sky. A haunting aromatic prettiness and gentle firmness on the touch are the defining elements of this Sebastiano Chardonnay / Watch Hill Roussanne composition I so love.
Marinated Quail
Smoked Goat Cheese & Potato Crème, Pistou
2021, The Mysterious Charm of Old Ruins, Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills
We get to choose between two distinct styles: either very California by letting the needle go in the red and picking late, or with a nod to old world siblings by exercising restraint and picking on the early side. We like to do both, and make wines that have plenty of bounce in their bungee, capture the brightness, energy, and more of the red fruit spectrum, along with the complexities of damp earth and forest floor, and yet offer the unapologetic generosity of California. This edition of Loner Pinot is among the most balanced and complete we've ever made.
Short Rib Strudel
Morel Mushrooms, Mirepoix, Prosciutto
Horseradish spiced Red Wine Sauce
Side by Side- 2020, Bossman Red Blend, Central Coast & 2017, Halcyon Days Red Blend
This Bossman is both energetic like Truffaut and authoritarian like Hitchcock, so classics like Boeuf Bourguignon or Coq au Vin! Next to the 2017, Halcyon Days Red Blend. In a somewhat classic combination, the three stars of Happy Canyon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah were raised for nearly 3 years in large seasoned oak to combine in a moonless midnight-colored, vibrant show of elegant force with intoxicatingly seductive aromas
Artisanal Cheese's
2018, Songs without Words, Cabernet Sauvignon, Santa Ynez
Time was of the essence, and this composition of 90+% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10-ish% Petit Verdot aged for 3 years in barrel to fully develop its delicious potential, resulting in a heady beverage that features a perfume of black/blue fruit compote, smoked meat and freshly turned earth, and exudes an energy reminiscent of walking through a Fall night in a damp forest
